Product overview

The task was to build a model of smart animal health tracker, in this case adapted for horse.
The main challenges were: selection of components for pulse measurement in motion; development and testing of the prototype taking into account the peculiarities of the horse physiology.
“Horse tracker” continually analizes the health data collected by your horse smart device and alerting owner and vet immediately at the first sign of any trouble.
The key advantage - 24/7 Health Monitoring System that analyzes data straight from your horse.
“Horse tracker” uses sophisticated diagnostic techniques to analyze an entire set of data relating to your horses vital signs, behavior and activity levels. You’ll know right away when the system detects any changes that might signal a problem with your horse health.

Result

We built the prototype of animal tracking device. All data translated via Bluetooth to mobile phone or laptop.

  • Portable 3D printed case with autonomous power supply (rechargeable Li-Po battery)

MCU: STM32F103.
Power supply: 3.7V Li-PO battery with protection (FS8205A, DW01+) and charging circuits (TP4056).
Photopletysmograph: custom built circuit based on TCRT1000.
RFID: RDM630 with external RFID-antenna.
Bluetooth: AT-09 module.
GPS: Neo-6MV2 module with external ceramic antenna.
Accelerometer & Gyroscope: MPU-6050 module.
Temperature sensor: DS18B20.
Firmware for the MCU was written with the help of C language.
